Florida veterans, take a look at Nova Southeastern University. A pioneer in biomedical research where only credentialed professors teach (No Teaching Assistants!), and the beach is just ten minutes away. Sounds like my kind of place.

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is busy putting the needs of its students first. From acquiring grants, to ensuring they have the best research facilities to learn in, to making programs available to working adults, this university is making waves… and helping Florida veterans get their degrees.

But that’s not all they are up to. Nova Southeastern is looking out for those who protect our American freedom.

Nova & Florida Veterans

You Florida veterans who are looking to begin your academic career at NSU with credit under your belt will like this. Nova Southeastern University helps veterans earn college credits for military experience via the CLEP and DSST Exams. And that is going to save you both time and money.

With tuition currently at $23,214, student veterans and active-duty military will be looking for more than just GI Bill assistance at NSU. Those who qualify have a BAH of $2,107 available to them, and the Yellow Ribbon Program is available. There is also an on-campus SVA chapter and an active Facebook page.

Nova Southeastern Values

When I was looking at which college or university to attend, I always made sure to find out what each institution I was investigating valued most. Nova Southeastern spells it out very simply in their core values:

  • Academic Excellence
  • Student Centered
  • Integrity
  • Innovation
  • Opportunity
  • Scholarship/Research
  • Diversity
  • Community

What do you want an institution to value most? (I personally wanted my university and professors to be fun-loving… which is why I sincerely enjoy the following video.)

“Students are the focus of institutional priorities, resource decisions, and planning. We are stewards of student needs and advocates for student academic success and professional development.”

US News & World Report Top 100 Lists

If you are looking for a nationally recognized institution, NSU fills that requirement as well. US News & World Report ranked not one, not two, but FOUR of Nova Southeastern’s programs. All four programs (Online Graduate Business Program, Online Graduate Criminal Justice Program, Online Graduate Education Programs, and Online Graduate Nursing Program) made the top 100 list in their respective categories.

Nova Southeastern is most famous for its research facilities and programs.  The university’s soon-to-be-completed, 215,000 sq. ft. Center for Collaborative Research is one of the largest and most advanced research facilities in Florida with state-of-the-art laboratories. NSU also has a unique collaboration with medical research scientists from Sweden’s world-renowned Karolinska Institutet.
